I nominate Reba Dunford for treasurer. Do I have a second?

Anyone have any updates from the Community Action Plan committee meeting last night?

I'll be anxious to hear why the Treasurer is resigning.

I wonder if fiduciary responsibility, in light of a budget that cuts out required spending for special needs students, is a primary influencing factor.

Answers we got. 1) Second 2) The CAP meeting went very well. Not as I'd expected, happily. Marlys was absent due to her knees (all I know). Gloria, Brenda and I were there with council members (Sherlock, Rivella, Panzitta), some teachers, some administrators, a bunch of parents. Between 30 and 40 concerned citizens. Joanne Pirotti of the IU acted as mediator and got us down to business. We put together three subgroups based on our biggest concerns: a) facilities b) education quality c) community support/finance. We found places where we could agree and came up with some ideas in all of the areas. We'll be holding meetings for each one specifically and giving updates and recommendations to the rest of the board. Next meeting, on facilities will be June 24 at 7. All who showed up were welcome to the circle. There is no chair at this point and we are working together. 3) Tonight, I expect Gloria to explain her reasons for resigning. She wrote a long letter of resignation to the board and I'll be happy to share it after tonight. This is very important to Gloria and I hope she uses the stage tonight to share her very serious concerns.
