Breaking News: Reba Dunford resigns

The Emperor's reign of terror has claimed another victim: award winning business manager Reba Dunford.

Reba Dunford was often the last voice of reason pleading with the Emperor before he went and did something wild and wacky. He did it anyway, but it's on record that she tried. Wait until the Emperor finds out she was right in what she recommended to the board.

The Imperial bullying of the business manager was pretty obvious and blatant. Even lawyers have a veneer of mutual professional respect. Apparently William Hellmann, CPA, missed that ethics class discussion.

Superintendent Yonson seems to fill her busy days accepting resignations. How many more lifeboats are going over the side before we wake up and impeach this Emperor and this board?

Morrisville schools business manager resigns

Morrisville School District’s Business Manager Reba Dunford tendered her resignation Tuesday effective Oct. 18.

Superintendent Elizabeth Yonson said it was with regret that she accepted the resignation. Dunford has been with the district 4 years.

“Reba Dunford is an excellent business administrator. She restructured the business office and made it more efficient. She is an important member of my team and I will miss her,” Yonson said Wednesday.

Dunford and Yonson have been the subject of heated and often public criticism from the new school board majority. Soft-spoken Dunford sparred openly at times with School Board President Bill Hellmann in recent budget work sessions in which Hellmann presented his own budget drafts.

The board, despite Yonson’s protest, reduced her contract from the five years approved by the previous board to three.

It is all just a matter of time now that the crown will have his grubby little hands in the files!

so sad

The Wrecking Crew claims another victim. When you can't outright abolish something, try to co-opt it for your own purposes and destroy it from within. The strategy is working splendidly.

Reba, you, and your quiet competence and professionalism, will be missed.

I have a feeling I know what kind of cloth Reba's replacement will be cut from:

Reba is an extremely talented business administrator and will be missed.

In the corporate world, when the top leadership begins to abandon ship you know something bad is going on and, if publicly traded, the stock sinks like a rock. Don't they see this?

It is so sad that board members can bully people into quitting their jobs!

Reba always conducted herself with class and professionalism. This is obviously something that the Emperor and his subjects know absolutely nothing about. What a profound loss for our school community. Best of luck to you, Reba!

2 down. 2 to go. Kudos to Bill Hellman. Long live the Emperor.

"anonymous 2 down", I hope you're being sarcastic.

Ah! Perfect. Now, citing great savings to the district, the CPA/President of the school board announces that HE, himself, shall employ his vast business experience to personally run the business office of the district, obviating the need for a replacement for Ms. Dunford.

Did Hellmann just finish reading Putin's autobiography, or what?

Bill Ferrara is their golden-boy. He is already in the principal's office and will almost certainly be promoted to the position, without every filling to the vice-principal's position. I wouldn't be surprised if he is already working on his superintendent's certification so that he can take over that position when it becomes vacant (she MUST be looking to get out). My guess is that they won't fill the principal's position when that vacancy occurs either. They will just have one superintendent and leave it at that.

Oh, I missed one. Here's Bill's revised To-Do list:

Karen Huggins - CHECK
Kimberly Meyers - CHECK
Melanie Gehrens - CHECK
Reba Dunford - CHECK
Kate Taylor - TO DO
Beth Yonson - TO DO
Bill Ferrara - KEEP FOR NOW
Tim Lastichen - TO DO

It's beginning to feel like a death pool.

You forgot to check off the solicitor as DONE

I think you can put Dr. Yonson down as - PARTIALLY DONE, MORE TO DO.

"We ripped up your 5-year contract - here's a 3-year deal instead, take it or shove it" has to count for something.
