Here's the wrapup of the council meeting from last week. What was accomplished? You be the judge. At least there was a resolution keeping the doggies safe. Taxpayers...ummm, not so much.
What did they do to lower our taxes?

Good to see that they are really working hard to make a difference. I mean, who would expect any of them to step up and try to push an agenda of ideas and actions that might actually improve something in town? Hey, they paid the bills. Good job there!! Glad to see you can manage that. Now, how about working toward some positive change instead of just going through the motions? Any idiot, as we've seen, can sit in a chair and cast a vote. It takes a leader to make a difference. Are any of the council willing to take on that mantle? I have to believe that any such brave soul would have a large bloc of supporters (I'd be among them!), and in all likelihood, and equally large bloc of deniers and detractors, but it's time to get a new agenda for the town. The same old crap just aint cuttin' it anymore. I'd nominate George Bolos to be the man to make this happen. Of all the councilpeople, he has the greatest vision and most open-mindedness. The rest should step aside and let Morrisville grow out from under their shadow!!
I think George Bolos is leaving town.
You're Right...

That was supposed to be this link...
Bolos's House
I am saddened that the Bolos's are leaving town. Although George and I disagreed about the new school building, he was always willing to discuss the topic rationally -- debate not argue. No screaming, no fear mongering. (Imagine that!)
George is a nice guy with a vision for Morrisville. Although I never really got to know him outside of local politics I consider him a friend. My wife says Charlene, whom I've met but do not know, is also very nice and she's well liked by her and my kids.
We'll miss you. Good luck in VA.
Peter, Peter, Peter. If you are going to detail facts about someone, try to be correct. George Bolos was pretty darn adamant and outspoken over the new school issue. Remember how intimidated that little weasel of a lawyer looked when George walked up to the easel and deployed his wrath? One for George but if you'll recall, just after Beth moved the construction access road (At a greater cost) and his wife landed a job in the school, Mr. Bolos removed the green sign off his lawn and refused to plant a stop the school sign. Peter, George would have flourished on your school board and I suggest that the citizens of Virginia BEWARWE.
No doubt George was outspoken against the school. I'd spoken with him publicly and privately about it and, while he was adamant, and we disagreed, he was also very reasonable.
He did not make outlandish claims that the new building would cause all of southeast Pennsylvania to flood, or that Kindegartners would join gangs, or that the building would collapse on itself after 20 years.
Yes, George was adamant that he didn't want a road next to his house. And we didn't see eye-to-eye on the drainage issue.
As for the green sign, well, we all make mistakes. He eventually came around and realized what the Stop The School group was really about.
And wrath? Really? Wrath? No, I think George will be remembered as the guy that pleaded, Rodney King style, for us to just get along, to come together as a town, work out our differences, and get something done. He may have been onto something...
I don't know why George did what he allegedly did, and he can surely answer for himself, but I wouldn't be shocked to hear that he removed his green "STOP STOP SCHOOL TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION" sign and refused to plant a "STOP THE SCHOOL" sign on his lawn because he was catching on to what a vitriolic bunch of jerks many of the rabid stop the schoolers are, yourself included, and that he didn't really need "friends" like that. You know, the kind that would stab someone in the back for something as petty as not putting a dumbass sign on their lawn.
It's possible to disagree with someone without tearing them down. I can stoop down to your level, but I have to try really hard to do it. For you, the gutter seems to be second nature.
Anyway, I think this town would be a lot better off if there were 8 George Bolos' on council, and a few on the school board too. I'll miss him, even if I didn't always agree with him.
Speaking of taxation without representation, isn't Jack Buckman an illegitimate hypocrite for allowing himself to be appointed to the board?
