Borough Council Meeting Tonight

35 Union St, 7:30 P.M.

It should be a rather taxing meeting.

I'm told that a new oath will need to be taken by every council member before the meeting starts.

Any truth to this? I'm hearing that a palace coup is in the works for tonight, that Nancy Sherlock is going to be removed as Council President and replace by (drum roll please....) Jane Burger!

I'm hearing she has the votes to pull it off. My guess is that Burger herself, Steve Worob, Rita Ledger, Eileen Dreishbach, & Ed Albertson(?) would vote yes for this.

Hmmmmmm, let's see:

Jane Burger - long-time Council President up for re-election, also on Morrisville Municipal Authority (MMA) board, which handles (drum roll please....) water & sewer services.

Steve Worob - up for re-election friend of Burger and school board candidate (and former Council Vice President) Jack Buckman, who's $2,546 behind on his (drum roll please....) water & sewer bills (and $1,108 behind on his sanitation bills).

Rita Ledger - Mayoral candidate who owes $2,368 for her 2008 taxes, was also late in paying her 2004 and 2007 taxes, and is also late on $158 in (drum roll please....) water and sewer bills.

Eileen Dreisbach - who's up for re-election, owes $2,676 in taxes and $785 in sanitation fees as of Wednesday, also delinquent in paying her 2004, 2006 and 2007 taxes.

Business as usual.....

There will be students there tonight receiving awards. I do hope that everyone is on their best behavior!

Watched public comment and the retort on TV. The chamber was filled with hypocrisy tonight. Will be glad when the election is over.

Vote BECK, JENKINS, MILLER and STONEBURNER.
