Good catch. I thought everyone's testimony was good, even those I usually disagree with. Too bad all discourse in town can't be like this. Too bad no amount of discourse is likely to stop the foregone conclusion of MR Reiter's permanent closure, with or without thoughtful answers to the many legitimate questions asked and issues raised at the hearing.
Nice to be able to read the testimony from the meeting, but what about the written comments submitted prior to the deadline? What about the promised answers to the questions posed during the testimony?
In the BCCT article dated 2/4/09, it was written,
"Five people responded to district solicitor Michael Fitzpatrick’s encouragement for additional written testimony after a Jan. 29 public hearing about the closing of M.R. Reiter Elementary School."
Where is their testimony? Why hasn't that been attached to the document?
The document posted to the web is incomplete. There's at least one Monday afternoon submission that's missing.
I wondered the same, but then decided, "it's OK, this is just the transcript of what was presented verbally at the hearing". Now after seeing your comments, I'm a little worried too.
Were we supposed to deliver the written comments to Hellmann's business office?
Were these approved by the board? Did anyone check for typos? Check page 9 line 9. Hopefully that's the only one. I haven't read through all 79 pages yet.
