Hellmann was playing Calvinball last night. If you want to speak at either of the public comment sessions, you must sign up before the meeting begins. At least that's the rule this week.

Yes, Jon was escorted out last night. It was pretty contentious. Brenda Worob re-read Marlys Mihok's indictment of Robin Reithmeyer, Joe Kemp, and Beth Yonson into the record, this time leaving Ed Frankenfield out. Then she asked for civility and for all of us to forget the past, and move forward.

I got the chance to tell her she's talking the talk after the meeting, but she's not walking the walk during the meeting. All of the board members could have objected to cutting out the public from the second session, but not one of them did, except for Robin. I told Bill Farrell the same thing after the meeting. He could have objected as well, but during the meeting all we heard was silence. They enable Hellmann to continue acting the way he does.

I realize I wasn't being nice, but after I asked several questions about the Vitetta report for the MSHS (or lack thereof - Vitetta was there briefly, then quickly whisked away by Hellmann in what seemed like an attempt to avoid public questioning), I then THANKED Marlys for NOT LYING this time about the deadline for passing a 4.1% tax increase cap resolution, like she did last year.

This was immediately flagged as a personal attack by hair-trigger Hellmann, and I was escorted out by Dave May. He really didn't need to - I was a-goin' home. But I really didn't have anything else pointed to say (although I would say that LYING and inpugning Dr. Yonson's and BCCT reporter Kate Fratti's integrity is a lot more mean and heinous, especially since she's a "High Public Official" and I'm just an ordinary citizen).

My next couple of questions would have been:

1. Wasn't Hellmann talking just a few months ago about a 45 mil (20%+) tax increase? Was that just a scare tactic, was money miraculously found, or were massive cuts made?

2. What kind of progress has Mr. Fitzpatrick made with respect to his 6-month quest for tuition-out of merge our High School students with another district? And why do we only hear about this stuff in the newspapers? And how does this square with the Sunshine Laws?

It's probably not worth the energy, but think of all the things sitting board members and supporters and spouses have said over the years either at the microphone or from their board seats that did NOT result in anyone being escorted from the building. Think there's a double-standard?
