Postgame Analysis

Now that Gateway is deader than a doornail, it's time to look ahead.

According to the Bucks County website, here are the municipal results from the 2007 election:

Knowing full well that someone will correct me if this information is in error, Sherlock (W2), Panzitta (W2), Bolos (W3), and Rivella (W4) were elected for terms from 2008 to 2012. This should mean that a full slate of anti-Gateway council members are up for election in 2009: Burger (W3), Worob (W4), Dreisbach (W1), and Ledger (W1).

Let's start right now to ensure that these four vision-less "leaders" be defeated.

And the Mayor? When is he up for re-election.

It does not much good to knock Burger out, and then have her elected as mayor instead (even though Morrisville has a "weak mayoral" system).

Gee wiz, I'll bet all the Morrisville politicians just shake in their boots over the thought losing the support of you blogheads. You really helped the pro school canidates to lose by a landslide. As a matter of fact, you people create a reverse effect and hurt the people you support sort of like the kiss of death. I got it, I shouldn't tell you this but I know how you all can finally win at something. Just pretent that you support all of the "small minded" people that you really can't stand. With your hard work and support, they will surely lose.

You say you disturb me
And you don't deserve me,
But you know sometimes you lie.
You say you're shakin'
And you're always achin',
But you know how hard you try.
Sometimes it gets so hard to care,
It can't be this way ev'rywhere.
And I'm gonna let you pass,
Yes, and I'll go last.
Then time will tell just who fell
And who's been left behind,
When you go your way and I go mine.

Last night, by voting "NO" to the mere "concept" of an "office building/community park" on the corner of Bridge Street and Delmor Avenue, those 6 out of 8 people on Morrisville Borough Council did the unthinkable: they immediately devalued our homes, demoralized our concerned citizens, robbed our EDC of their credibility, and essentially prevented any future development in our town -- forever. That's right - I said "forever". As I understand it, this was just one of several different planned development projects proposed for our town by the Developer, Mr. Dan Jones, of Penn Jersey Real Properties. Mr. Jones is very interested in our town's future revitalization and believes in the potential of morrisville Borough. Just walk the upstairs halls of our new Renaissance Building on Bridge Street (where his office is located) and see the many beautiful photos of "Historic Morrisville" -- certainly a collection that is indeed "museum-worthy". Oh well - I guess these officials don't care about stuff like that - they just care about being on television. Thanks to the overall stupidity and short-sightedness of local government officials such as Mr. Stephen Worob, Mr. David Rivella, Ms. Kathy Panzitta, Ms. Eileen Dreisback, Ms. Rita Ledger and, finally, the narcisistic and self serving leader of this mob we all know as Ms. Jane Burger, it's now evident that no other developer will ever want to come to our town again after what they have put Penn Jersey Real Properties through for these past 2 years. These people should be ashamed of themselves and their overall lack of leadership for their consituents. What they have committed last night by their vote against new development in Morrisville can only be described as "criminal" in intent. I ask them: "How do any of you sleep at night after the havoc you wreak in every Borough Council meeting here?" Let it be known: You are on notice: you are no longer wanted here in this town, and we will do everything in our power to rid ourselves of you come election time (if not sooner!). You 6 "people" are officially "on notice" for being replacedin your current positions.

Re: anonymous
Learn how to spell before you knock down a bunch of people who obviously care about the town. Less than they did yesterday, for sure, but for gosh sakes, the comment box even TELLS you when you are misspelling!
Wiz
(That was totally underlined!)
I feel so superior. And sad.
Right now.

Us blogheads obviously have the attention of some, if they feel the need to read what we are thinking and then comment on it!

The mayor's position is also up in the next election, although I doubt he will run again. Ibelieve he is as fristrated as we are at the stupidity of Council.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mayor Wisnosky doesn't run again. He probably is too progressive for Morrisville's majority tastes. I mean that as a compliment!

Which is why I hope he runs for, and wins, re-election. Imagine what Morrisville would look like in January 2010 with a newly re-elected Mayor Wisnosky, and a progressive majority on both the council and the board of education.

As mayor, Ms. Burger would not have a vote. That aside, folks who want to see change should organize early in electing candidates. It will be difficult to find people willing to run, but it seems timely. I believe in this instance the council acted in defiance of what a majority would want of properly informed.
