Saw in the BCCT this morning that the new Boro Council Pres. is Nancy Sherlock, and the VP is Kathy Panzitta.

Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss?

In my experiences with Boro Council Ms. Sherlock has been one of the most reasonable members. I don't think she will be 'drunk with power' as was their previous president. She was no fan of the new school, but I do feel she has the ability to be reasonable and thoughtful. She may also not be quite as anti-revitalization as the majority of Council seem to be. As far as Ms. Panzita, I think she is just a tree person (i.e. incapable of seeing the forest), but not a bad person. All in all, it's a heck of a lot better than what we had before, but I don't forsee our town turning around and revitalizing either. I am quite happy to see Mr. Buckman kicked out of council in the last election, although his replacement tried to kick a member out of the Democratic Club simply for executing their own constitutional rights to support independent candidates in the last campaign. A true democrat he is NOT! It seems he may be a 'do as I say or I will punish you' person like many of the NSNs.

I have no beef with Ms. Sherlock.

I could be convinced otherwise, but I believe Panzitta was a principal architect of the effort to kick 3 members out of the Democratic Club. They failed this time, by the way. The County exonerated them. As far as I can tell, the 'do as I say or I will punish you' moniker suits her well. Maybe some club members who know can explain how it went down?

Dave Rivella claimed his hands were tied, that he had no choice but to sign the accusations. To me, that's indicative of some combination of the following: 1. a lack of conviction, 2. cowardice to admit that he agreed with the action, 3. fear of reprisals from the club puppet masters if he didn't "go along to get along". By the way, none of these things are "good".
